Man I feel this.
I recently purged most of my subreddit subscriptions and really focused in on topics I care about that still have content I actually want to see. I probably dropped 90% of my subscriptions.
The payoff is that as long as I never visit “all” I get a fairly well curated list of posts that don’t suck.
- flyingfences 4y agoI've been aggressively filtering and purging my Reddit feed for a couple of years, and at first it was enough, but only at first. I finally bit the bullet and deleted my account after ten years. I only go back to Reddit when I know there will be a particular thread that I want to read. So far, I'm not missing it.
- coreyisthename 4y agoAgreed. Reddit is all gifs, videos, memes or anime now. Mostly TikTok’s, really. I rarely find myself sucked into rabbit holes like I did back when I first joined about a decade ago
