Antidepressants are not associated with improved quality of life in the long run
- tssva 4y agoAre there comparable studies regarding therapy? I have been on about every anti-depressant available and tried about every form of therapy out there along with combinations of the 2. All combinations at best have resulted in short term gains which have quickly reversed. The same for exercise and diet changes. This is over the course of decades. Unfortunately as far as access to care goes I have never had any thoughts of self-harm. Since I haven't other forms of treatment have always been denied by insurance. Many who suffer from treatment resistant mild depression find themselves in a similar situation. I switched insurance companies this year and the new one in theory will cover Spravato (esketamine). I'm currently attempting to get it covered but we shall see. Past experience doesn't leave me hopeful. Of course the depression doesn't much help with being hopeful about it either.
