i was an Opera user (presto days), i quit the day you announced moving to chromium and killing presto
what i said about firefox apply to opera too, your decision to move to chromium meant you gave up, and lost the reason why you had users in the first place, users doesn't care about technical difficulties
mobile was a different story with apple, unfortunately
using the "complex web standard" card is too easy, since moving to chromium didn't help increase userbase, not even for Edge
and just being different doesn't help either, look at firefox
poorly managed company, google money poorly used/allocated, on top of poor marketing
opera browser (presto) was the best browser, i remember novel features like web compression to help mobile users save bandwidth..
i wish it could come back and focus on what matter
