I'm highly suspicious of Vodafone's claim that this tracking scheme will protect user privacy. Hopefully this gets challenged in court.

  For all their faults Germany does tend to be pretty strict about this sort of thing so hopefully they'll do the right thing

      Well quite, but they seem to have the most teeth, I've been trying to solicit a response from another EU DPA for months, they won't even engage - to the point they don't eve n allow consumer complaints
