I'm here because the other news site I used to visit (Slashdot) became a cesspool of people spamming swastikas (and host files unsolicited advices!) during 2010-2020. All I wanted was to read news and discussing interesting articles so I ended up here. HN seemed "ugly" at first, now I love the way it is. > "improving the world", "solve painful problems" This is sales pitch. 99% of the times it actually means "we want to appear as cool (and 'benevolent') as possible while we bill you monthly". It's just a facade. All they care is the might buck, and everything else is debatable.
