The fact is this is not how life is for many, many people. A lot of us go through phases like this, I have, but we move on.
For me, the way to stop thinking of my life as a burden was through service to other people. It gave my life value, grew my self respect and made me into a person another human being could grow to value and love. You can do this by first cleaning up you own life so you're not a burden to others, then by taking on responsibilities. Help and support your family if you have one, volunteer or participate in clubs or activities actively, take more responsibility at work by supporting your team and doing the jobs nobody else wants to do.
The one thing we're all responsible for that we can't blame on anyone is our attitude. Even in the worst circumstances how you choose to respond to it is up to you and nobody else. Start small with easy choices. Clean your apartment, take out the trash, wear clean clothes, do a bit of exercise, get a haircut, phone your mother or a loved one or friend, and work up from there.
