Note that this is not true in Tesla's case. Elon and team thought it would be easier to modify an existing design, but have since admitted that it was a mistake to do so.
- colechristensen 4y agoEh, that's still their estimation of how things would have went if they made different choices. They had the experience of building a car from the ground up after building a car from an existing base. Who knows how it would have gone had they tried to build their first car from nothing.
