They are put into temporary storage (viable for 10-50 years), that's not long term storage. > I'm assuming you mean price per kWh, compared with wind/solar and the necessary storage? What is the current price of renewables plus storage? You cannot operate a grid on nuclear only so why include storage for renewables? Edit: supplied time frame for temporary storage

    Because wind and solar are much more unreliable than nuclear so it needs storage to smooth out the demand.
