It's not as if they were the only provider. How I understood the system it's for them mainly about just directing the transmission to the next ground station. It's less about hopping via laser connection between thesatelites to the other side of the world. At least not in their general subscription plan. Maybe some hand picket client have this privilege. Dunno.
Since I can't tell you all their 150..200k users (don't know the number but in 11/2021 was 140k as of [1]) so I can't even guesstimate how big their drop would be. Some might still can fallback to other technologies or providers. Dunno the coverage of Starlink and others on oceans though.
