It means out of 600 domain extensions (endings), that many percentage of endings were registered using the same name. The more endings were registered with the same name, the more popular that name is.
Hope that makes sense
- WalterGR 4y agoSo by endings you mean TLDs? And by “X% of endings were registered with the word Y” you mean “X% of all TLDs have ‘Y’ registered” or “‘Y’ is already registered with X% of all TLDs”? It doesn’t make sense without an explanation.
- docuru 4y agoThanks for letting me know. I didn't realized using "endings" can be confusing, will look into it.
- nulbyte 4y agoI don't think it's the word "ending" so much as the grammar. It sounds like you mean the word N was registered with a certain percentage of endings, whereas you say a certain percentage of endings were registered with the word N. It seems "domain ending" might be a somewhat common way to describe a TLD in lay terms. That said, I am a geek and a curmudgeon, so I still think writing out top-level domain makes the most sense in such a context.
