Even without the magnetic connection, the right angle works much better for me than straight out.
- xxpor 4y agoI was looking at those, but are there any that'll do pd?
- adhesive_wombat 4y agoMine charges my laptop OK. Pretty sure they just do pass through, so the device negotiates the PD as usual. I think it's more likely that it wouldn't work for a USB 3/TB dock thing as I imagine the high-frequency signal integrity is trashed by such a thing.
- mgdlbp 4y agoI read that most of these make devices more vulnerable to ESD / wrongly connected pins due to poorly thought-out contacts. Not sure how true that is--are modern devices protected "fully" on every pin? Once I had a large visible arc to the USB C port of my phone. It was off afterwards and wouldn't start, which was scary, but turned out fine after taking the battery out and putting it back in. Someone know how that could have happened?
