Simple Dockerfile examples are often broken by default (2019)
- SahAssar 4y agoThe author seems to have a different definition of the word broken than I have. I would expect broken to mean something along the lines of non-functional, but they seem mean insecure, slow to build or non-reproducible.
- necheffa 4y agoIf any part of your requirements touch on security, performance, or reproducibility, then yes "broken" is the correct adjective here.
- SahAssar 4y agoIs a normal car "broken" because my usecase is off-roading? Is your laptop "broken" because my usecase is processing credit card transactions? Even if you think that something is bad for all usecases it is not broken if working as designed.
- oweiler 4y agoGood list. With regards to caching: Don't waste your energy on this and use sth like jib or buildpacks.
