I thought it was a stretch to compare the economy of Russia and Germany, however it seems to make sense, as the PPP per capita of Germany vs Russia is 54076$ vs 27903$ while the population is 83 million vs 144 million. Other interesting details: The GDP per capita of Russia vs Ukraine is 10125$ vs 3726$ (ratio of 2.7) The PPP per capita of Russia vs Ukraine is 27903$ vs 13110$ dollars (ratio of 2.12)
