I think programmers get used to the idea that some names for things are never meant to be spoken and don't ever say them in their head to see what they'd sound like.
- smabie 4y agoReminds me of a variable name at my last job, fagg. Stood for like frequency aggregator or something..
- mcculley 4y agoAlso, some people don’t have an “inner voice”. I don’t hear words when I read them. Sometimes I miss puns if I don’t go back and sound them out.
