It’s hard to read the whole post when the second paragraph contains:
Who is doing the research to discover if Prohibition caused a change in the rate of alcoholism? Is that an area of research? It would be interesting to know.
It’s easy to find research on this topic and prohibition did lower rates of alcohol consumption and related deaths due to alcoholism. Whether this was worthwhile is a different debate but it is clear that prohibition did work in terms of making the nation more sober overall.
