In private, vulnerable Senate Dems back off tech bill ban favoring own products
- PaulHoule 4y agoFunny, it seems that conservatives want to regulate big tech, regulating big tech is broadly popular. Trying to lower inflation in the short term is one of the worst ideas I’ve heard in a long time. There are two ways it ends badly: (1) subsidize, subsidize, subsidize, driving up the national debt and driving down the value of the dollar - pouring gasoline on the fire. (2) stop inflation by crashing the economy, that works in the short term but they will next feel they have to do something about the recession so they’ll stomp on the gas again and then get more inflation later… Maybe the real problem is we’ve been thinking short term all this time.
