- wincy 4y agoThis will be interesting in the coming decades, as the characters that featured in many people’s childhoods become public domain, to see what sort of response we will get from juggernauts like Disney in trying to defend “their” intellectual property. Like they said in the article, they say they were careful to avoid using any of the IP Disney added to the Winnie the Pooh story, such as Tigger and piglets signature outfit. But what will they do if Disney’s legal team just tried to bully them into submission with a cease and desist? I doubt a company like this will have the money to resist it. At the same time I expect there’d be a major Streisand Effect if Disney sends them a legal notice. I’m interested to see what happens! I’m definitely not going to see this movie though. It looks really dumb.
