  "And our seven months of efforts went in vain." I see this kind of comment all to often and I think author is being to hard on themselves and their team. A well intentioned, well though out attempt that doesn't succeed is still very valuable if you learned from the experience. A key factor in success is a management team that lets engineers experiment, fail and refine future efforts.
