They're conceptually similar but, while i'm intimately familiar with the fiddle app, i don't know enough about D1 to know _how_ similar they are or are not. Note, also, that fiddle is analog to the sqlite3 shell app, not the library API. The library API itself is a separate wasm sub-project.
