Google Hardware’s latest weird defect: Quickly deteriorating phone cases
- jqpabc123 4y agoThe cases apparently quickly turn yellow or brown from UV degradation. That's a common problem with cheap transparent cases, but it's not something you would expect from an official $30 case from a major manufacturer. The obvious conclusion is this is a cheap transparent case with a $30 price tag. The major manufacturer probably found the profiteering too enticing to resist.
- rbanffy 4y agoThe one that came with my Nokia (actually a nice phone) also ended up yellowing. Good thing the phone itself is almost black and it doesn't show, but I would be upset if that happened with a white phone.
- llampx 4y agoThis is why I just buy the cheap cases from ebay or Amazon. No sense in going for an artisanal case when most of them are bad quality anyway.
