Google forced me to give a phone number to verify my 10+ year old account, not because I forgot my password, but because they want all your information (I think that they buy ID info from the phone companies)... and I don't even use any kind of 2FA...
- outoftheabyss 4y agoDid the same to me. Refused to give it, luckily I only used it for YouTube, lost the 100 odd channels I subscribed to and my playlists and that was about it. Use an RSS reader now to track my favourite channels
