It’s been a “shortage of skill” for more than a decade. Maybe we should refer to the shortage as one of industry initiative to train these people and stop blaming workers. There’s definitely no shortage of people interested in the field.
- bediger4000 4y agoI've been interested in info sec since the 1988 Morris Worm. It's always paid better to be a Unix (and later. Linux) developer. I think the decade-long skill shortage is a front for corporations not wanting to spend money on another type of employee. C-levels can understand spending money on themselves and their offspring, lawyers, janitors and faceless "workers". They don't understand a new type of worker, one that points out things that cost money to fix or implement, who, moreover, is not a lawyer or typically a relative.
