I removed my premium subscription after this incident and was surprised to find that all benefits for the subscription were immediately revoked. Mail was rendered undeliverable until space was clear back to 500MB.
Mind you there was still time in my subscription.
So fuck ProtonMail regardless. Others will recommend Tutanota, Fastmail… I use mailbox.org for business, all much better recommendations.
- jacooper 4y agoits written clearly under the cancle button that this would happen. they would give you credits for the time left in the subscription.
- sha256sum 4y agoWrong, it is currently… And so what? For someone to play like that it’s fair to give a refund for the unused period. Otherwise, like I said, fuck ProtonMail.

- stjohnswarts 4y agoThey have a free service, there was no reason to cut him off completely unless he was over quota and then they should have logically warned him and given notice they would purge the account after x days unless it was cleaned up. So yeah this seems kind of dirty.
