The article is talking about open source intelligence, not open source code.
I think it's unfortunate that they reused the term... there's almost nothing in common between the disciplines.
- jart 4y agoNo they're talking about open source developers. There's a whole paragraph in the article where they talk about how America is at a disadvantage because countries like North Korea benefit from American openness while remaining closed themselves. The state could easily decide one day that it wants to turn off the spigot of generosity, and in order to do that, they'd have to suppress all the generous people.
