The price tag has swollen to $29.8 billion. Yet some in the eclectic pro-nuclear-power coalition are pushing hard for more new reactors. According to [0] (December 2021), wind turbines cost '1.3 million per megawatt'. That's $1.3B per gigawatt. Vogtle (now 9 years abuilding) will add 2GW. Hmmm. $2.6B vs $30B, one year vs (?? 9+). The wind difference (apart from time) would buy a lot of storage. Possibly 'some' 'eclectic' people are in no hurry.
