Eventually? Many online assessments for entry level tech jobs already require you to answer questions on a recorded video which is then screened and reviewed by Humans. This outlines things [0].
I get a bunch of notifications from recruiters to apply for X, Y, Z position which means I've curated my CV correctly for their ATS barrier of entry.
But I've been focusing on a low-level job in tech, below JR. Dev, while I complete my degree in AI/ML in CompSci. I've not only had to curate my CV to pass the algo selection to get a call back, but then when I interview (often with a recruiter) I've been asked more than once to record a series of responses about my experiences in previous roles.
I did it once just to see what it was like, but it's the typical non-sense you get before you[re asked to solve ad-hoc problems with an employee at the firm. It's been jarring, honestly... And when i tell them about my experience I keep getting told the same thing 'you're overqualified' and 'aren't you concerned that you'll probably get bored?' t I tell them my studies are challenging enough, but they don't seem to believe me.
My entire Career in tech can be summed up as: Co-founder of a Startup to recruited into Megacorp in ~5 years all while interacting with people each step of the way, this new way of doing things has been as frustrating as dealing with the voice recognition with most customer service departments before you speak with an actual Human. And I think, as you detailed, it is intended to be this way.
With that said, I've also had to deal with ~2 months of headaches with my medical insurance about medical claim reimbursements, that ultimately were admitted to be their rep's fault to outline the policy correctly but only paid a percentage of the total sum of what I paid out of pocket for said services.
They drained me of all energy and more important and pressing Life incidents came up and I just relinquished any hope of appealing any further to get the total sum as I had lost all motivation and I'd rather just cancel my policy and go back to not having insurance for a while to recover my expenses.
Personally, I think this is it's actual goal: create a moat for essential services protected by Law, once done drive services to the most tolerable threshold possible, if things need to be assessed put them through of needless complexity and frustrate them enough until they give up and couple that with outsourced CS hubs and you've just ensured that you have a trapped pool of clients who are essentially bound to comply to your business model, eventually they'll be back because they NEED you.
