Netflix tests Netflix: The story behind the service’s new two-thumbs-up feature
- jfengel 4y agoOne problem with the "stars" rating is that I'm unlikely to select a movie that I'd hate. If I've ever picked a film that I gave a one-star rating to, it's because something has gone wrong. I would rarely even give a two-star rating -- and even then, I nearly always knew that I was taking a risk and hoped that the film wasn't as bad as everyone said it was. So it makes a lot of sense to me to slant the ratings towards the positive. Even as it is, I hope they interpret "didn't rate" as "it wasn't terrible but I'm not rushing to upvote it, either". That yields a total of 4 possibilities: 1. I shouldn't have watched this (thumbs down) 2. Time passed (no rating) 3. I am glad I watched this (thumbs up) 4. I would watch this over and over. Please get more things like this (two thumbs up)
