Eight months and counting with the position unfilled, investing time and money in the interview process, vetoing great candidates, getting pushback from the team... I think maybe it's time to just hire someone! Makes me think of Algorithms to Live By: that book has at least a whole chapter on the optimal length of time to spend reviewing options before making a decision.
