  Whats "EA gaming"? Is there a non-gaming division of EA? And Apple does not do "mergers".

    In the title, "gaming" is lowercased meaning it isn't part of the company title or a division. Most likely, it was included as shorthand for "you know, that gaming company that makes Madden". Mergers/acquisitions are used rather interchangeably, so I wouldn't read too much in to what the article says.

  At first I assumed Apple wouldn’t make sense here (they aren’t super adept in gaming) but getting The Sims, Plants vs Zombies, FIFA and Madden is a pretty solid, broadly appealing list. Then pairing it with Mass Effect, Battlefield, Apex Legends and a ton more. There a lot of franchises and maybe enough for Apple Arcade to compete with Microsoft’s Activison Blizzard acquisition and gaming subscription service.
