We only hire the best took us 9 months and counting to hire an office manager
- version_five 4y agoI agree, as an ideal. I'm wrestling with this right now, the difference between "capable" people that are smart and do what you tell them vs people who really understand and are committed to what you are working on, and are more like partners. I'd prefer the latter, but it's not always practical. Thay said, the author here has a crypto company
- hunter-gatherer 4y agoI'm curious how one develops the skill to so (seemingly) adequately discern the "best" from "great".
- psd1 4y agoSix-round interview process. Presumably with compassionate rejection letters for the unsuccessful candidates - I don't think. Kindness is the most important quality any human can have. I'm detecting none from this tool. I do appreciate the warning not to go near his 2-bit no-office-manager company.
- innagadadavida 4y agoView point from the other side - never heard of this startup with questionable founder creds, mental stability, runway, product and revenue hopes. Wouldn’t bother applying let alone working for them.
- HomeDeLaPot 4y agoEight months and counting with the position unfilled, investing time and money in the interview process, vetoing great candidates, getting pushback from the team... I think maybe it's time to just hire someone! Makes me think of Algorithms to Live By: that book has at least a whole chapter on the optimal length of time to spend reviewing options before making a decision.
