Brit, with occasional light linguistic pretensions, but who has never had anything to do with theatre here - 'Today I Learned' as they say. I've not had 'Fresnel' as a French name and I'm guessing the pronunciation I have in my head comes from reading it and, more likely, just watching too many American-made YouTube videos with people playing with huge Fresnel lenses for fun and profit.
