Elon Musk suggests cutting Twitter offer by proportion of bots
- nabla9 4y agoThis bot narrative is known by everybody to be just rhetoric. Time for summary to get over spin: (1) Musk noted in a press release statement that “defeating the spam bots” would be a top priority under the company's new ownership. “He said he wanted to buy Twitter to get rid of the spam bots, and now he's saying he doesn't want to buy Twitter because it has spam bots (2) nothing has changed about the bot problem since Musk signed the merger agreement. Musk knew those estimates, and ... (3) ... declined to do any nonpublic due diligence before signing the merger agreement. (4) He has produced no evidence at all that Twitter’s estimates are wrong, and certainly not that they are materially wrong or made in bad faith. (Musk can only get out of the deal if Twitter's filings are wrong in a way that would cause a “material adverse effect” on Twitter, which is vanishingly unlikely.) Agrawal’s wrote a thoughtful response that Musk responded to with a poop emoji. (5) Only thing that has changed is stock market. So far Musk has violated every contract with Twitter. He broke the standstill agreement, the non-disparagement clause of the merger agreement, a nondisclosure agreement, now the merger agreement itself. If Twitter agrees to repriced merger agreement, there is no reason to expect that Musk lives up to it anymore. It seems that the best Twitter can do is to get Delaware judge to order Musk to close the deal for it's full price. This means getting testimonies that Musk had money secured from banks. If he ordered them to stop or end the deals, that's violation of the agreement and Musk is in bad trouble. https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2022-05-17/elon-musk-does-not-care-about-spam-bots https://www.bloomberg.com/opinion/articles/2022-05-17/elon-m...
- trasz 4y agoThat's an interesting suggestion from someone who's majority of followers are bots.
