I agree it’s risky business, but that is what happened in the 70ties. So it is possible to let inflation eat say half of the US national debt. That’s 13 trillion USD… Even if the US economy shrinks by 5% in the process it may still be beneficial for many. This is the extraordinary economic incentive I was referring to above.
