There's a whole industry for this and every vehicle manufacturer has a team of sound designers working on designing sound for every vehicle model. In my particular area teenagers were known to modify their shitty 100cc motorbikes to sound like 1000cc bikes quite successfully. Often you see people turn around to see who brought a harley on the streets just to see two kids rolling in at 40km/hour lol
