Is this true? Anecdotally I bought a very fast electric scooter last year, but initially I didn't have a helmet. It took about two weeks to finally receive a helmet that fit me, and I didn't take it at top speed until then. I definitely feel much more secure riding with the helmet on...and take more risks than I would without it.
