The only reason Chapelle is on Netflix is because one of the CEOs is a huge fan. There was a lot of internal pushback.

- PartiallyTyped 4y agoThat is not as good of an argument as you think it is. > The only reason Chapelle is on Netflix is because one of the CEOs is a huge fan. There was a lot of internal pushback. In other words, CEO endorses and demands a "comedian" who punches down on __other minorities__, and somehow Netflix is "woke".
- PartiallyTyped 4y agoI find it very disappointing that a +3 comment went to -3 without any reasonable responses, I expected more from HN.
- vimy 4y agoThe exception that proves the rule. I reject the concept of 'punching down' in comedy. Either a joke is funny or it isn't. Nothing else matters.
- PartiallyTyped 4y agoThat would be great ... if human interactions happened in a vacuum then sure, nothing matters. But that is not how humans work. Every interaction matters, every interaction affects our brains, affects what we think is right and wrong. You are free to reject everything, and anything, does not mean reality will bend to your will.
- vimy 4y agoYour ideology =/= reality. Goodbye.

Every interaction matters, every interaction affects our brains, affects what we think is right and wrong. That is reality, not ideology. That is precisely the point I am making, actions have consequences. Please point out __which__ part of my comment is ideologically fueled, because I see just facts. Maybe you will grow up some day, probably not.
