After reading this, I’m reminded of the Sanskrit concept of adbhuta. It can be roughly translated to wonder, but in the sense of witnessing something otherworldly or supernatural. The Nāṭya Śāstra elaborates and articulates on 8 rasas in the performing arts, including adbhuta. Truly an interesting work.
