Why is Canada euthanising the poor?
- version_five 4y agoI've seen a few of these articles recently and I'm curious about what's driving them. It feels like a very alarmist interpretation of euthanasia. Maybe there's something to it, but I'd be cautious taking these at face value just because I've seen lots of "opinions" like this recently in the media and I'm skeptical of the attention this is getting.
- allears 4y agoIt's a clickbait headline. The situation is tragic, you could certainly accuse the government of neglect if not more, but the government is not guilty of euthanasia. That was the personal decision of the woman involved.
- SkittyDog 4y agoI'm curious why you're skeptical... is there some reason why you don't think the most likely explanation is that there is a community of experts who are legitimately concerned? I've heard the exact same sentiment as yours about a lot of things... Climate Change being the main one that comes to mind. Do you feel the same way about all the "opinions" in the media recently, and are you skeptical of the attention it's getting? I realize that I may sound glib, here, but I am legitimately trying to understand your thought process, and assess whether you have a broader tendency toward suspecting a conspiracy behind a cluster of news stories.

- ComradePhil 4y agoIn socialism, the best way to cut costs is to kill away those who cost the most to keep around. Isn't killing the poor who are the most expensive to keep around best for everyone else? Isn't that the argument for abortion? If you don't like the outcome, feel free to adopt a different ideology.
