The vendor lock is real, but right now there are enough open source technologies to build an application which is 'portable':
- PostgreSQL
- Elastic Search
- Kafka
- Nginx
- mountainriver 4y agoYeah but that doesn't tell the whole story in a mid or large size company. You need to manage how people access things, you will inevitably use cloud resources which encourage lock-in and people will follow the path of least resistance.
