"Discredit Fusion" When you ain't got nothing , you got nothing to lose...Fusion has been the running joke ever since the mid 80s. For sure in the 90s it became known as the technology which would always be "20 years away". ITER is miles ahead in terms of taxpayers funds risk-reward as far as international project go if it's compared to the ISS or the LHC. Odds to get something practical out of it are at least an order of magnitude more than the ISS and the LHC
