As a music tech worker, I would definitely recommend this to beginners. It would be lots of fun to know sound design with GUI interactions. If you are interested in an audio programming and code-based way, you are welcomed to try the live coding language and environment I am developing (https://glicol.org https://glicol.org) No GUIs, but hopefully provide some idea on how digital audio works in a lower level.
