Ask HN: How to navigate offers when interviewing with multiple companies?

I am currently in the position of interviewing for a few different companies. It's likely that my number 1 choice would be finishing the process later than a couple others which I would take, but only if rejected by the number 1 choice. Is it normal in this space to basically tell a company "I'm waiting on other options", without burning a bridge?
