This is cute but it seems that expressions spanning multiple lines are not rendered
OK:
$$\|\vec{x} - \vec{p}_c\| = v(t_c-t_0)$$
--
NOT OK:
$$
\|\vec{x} - \vec{p}_c\|
= v(t_c-t_0)
$$
