FairEmail may be Ending Development
- somuchjob 4y agoThat would be a shame. FairEmail has been the best mobile client I've used. But I absolutely empathize with the dev.
- brnt 4y agoNooooooooo! FairEmail is an excellent piece of FLOSS software, and it should not die! That said, it seems like the author is mainly brought down by negativity in reviews. I understand that absolutely. Although I'm happy that WFH had normalized, there are people, people I know, that just don't jibe with over text. I need regular meets (VC will do) to be assured they are not insensitive assholes. If I wouldn't have that, I could not go on in my work. Apparently I am sensitive. With these reviews there's both a volume and a total lack of face time that I could not deal with. Well, by not ever looking at it. Sure, the Play Store gives reach, but I don't think that's what the author needs right now. People just don't work very well over IP, and I shut down channels occasionally because I must place my mental health before all. Maybe that can work for M66B too.

- ea550ff70a 4y agoFairEmail is an absolute gem. I hope they are able to resolve their issues with Google. Would be a big loss in the FOSS world.
- bertman 4y agoIt's over: I have removed all my apps from the Play store and I will stop supporting and maintaining my apps. Google won. https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/closed-app-5-0-fairemail-fully-featured-open-source-privacy-oriented-email-app.3824168/page-1087#post-86909853 https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/closed-app-5-0-fairemail-...
