- batiudrami 4y agoPeople have quantified it. About 0.55% of global energy consumption for almost no meaningful benefit. I don’t really know what point you’re trying to make beyond “don’t tell me what to do” or maybe “but you do other things that cause carbon emissions so how can this be bad?”
- mirceal 4y agoThe point is: if I can tell to what to do when it comes to bitcoin I will eventually end up telling you all the things that you can and cannot do. > People have quantified it. Or, if you take the Thanos approach: Most people live a meaningless life and consume a boatload of resources. Should we get rid of them? What's meaningless you ask? It's whatever I decide it is. It has a fluid definition.
