Plaid expands into identity,income verification,fraud prevention,account funding
- rubyn00bie 4y agoWow. I truly hate having to use plaid. This is disappointing. I can’t think of a system I hate more that gets forced down my throat. I have zero faith that they hold my data safely or that it won’t be stolen or sold. I actually will stop doing business with places that use plaid so this is assuredly gonna make my life harder.
- mikecoles 4y agoid.me is another that I am growing to dislike. The IRS association is what caused the pivot from 'tolerate' to 'avoid'. Square looks like it will be added to my list as well. The inability to use a per-vendor email address when checking out with a credit card is my point of frustration. Cash is looking better all the time.
- mal-2 4y agoThe fact that Plaid works within a modal iframe with no clear domain verification, bypassing the browser's HTTPS lock icon, and then *asks for your banking login*, is irresponsible and inexcusable for a financial company. That kind of insecure flow is a phisher's dream.
- axg11 4y agoThis move is essential for Plaid to survive. Stripe just recently moved into Plaid's core business and Stripe are increasingly becoming a one-stop shop for all company needs that involve money. If you already have a Stripe account for payments/subscriptions, you're more likely to try out another one of their services. To compete, Plaid also have to increase the value of their ecosystem.
- jkotter351 4y agoI disagree as a developer. I wish they’d make their core products easier to use instead. This just seems really distracted and spastic
- jkotter351 4y agoBut I’m going to have to say this… I tried moving away to Finicity and it was hell
