For me this light pinkish text on the dark purple background is far worse choice... it's not just the eye strain that I felt immediately, it also has this anxious and aggressive vibe. Good choice of color palette for a striptease club, but not so much for a page with a lot of text IMHO...

Unfortunately, Medium does not allow setting the text color — they set it automatically based on the background... After trying several combinations, I've mostly given up with that site and am planning on moving to another.
