- bzxcvbn 4y agoExpecting nobody to ever name their project "textual" ever again is somewhat far-fetched. It's a common word.
- blondin 4y agoaside: do you guys know of a Python-based TUI/prompt library that allows multi-line output? the idea is to be able to do what IDEs like vscode, or recently, Fig[1] do. they autosuggest, but at the same time include documentation at the prompt. prompt_toolkit[2] does not do that afaik. - dmix 4y agoYou mean documenting various options or commands? Like an inline —help? I like that idea…
- setr 4y agoI’m assuming I’ve misunderstood your question, because all TUI libraries allow multi-line output, by definition? They take over the whole space; you can draw whatever you want on any section of the screen. Though the logic for drawing it nicely for your usecase might require a custom widget… it looks like the difference between fig’s autocomplete example[0] and prompt_toolkit’s example[1] is less multi-line output and more of “the box has multiple sections, drawn differently”.
