New Bluetooth hack can unlock your Tesla–and all kinds of other devices
- mc4ndr3 4y agoIt's 2022 and Diffie-Hellman still ain't used for automotive remotes. And yet my Mazda 3 fails to acknowledge my key fob half the time. Whatever dippy getup they use, treats me like a criminal in my own driver's seat.
- EricE 4y agoI take very, VERY good care of my old, dumb cars that do not have Wifi, Blutooth or any built in cellular modems :p If I'm lucky I will be buried with them. If forced to buy a new car at some point in the future, if it can't run without the radios physically removed from it I'm not buying it. Car companies know even less about computer security than consumer electronics companies; and it's been that way for decades yet here we remain. A pox on all their houses!
