The two causes listed were switching to private school and dropping out (meaning stopping education all together). The article mentions that school enrollment is down across the country, not just in large urban areas.
- JackFr 4y agoThey mention in passing that Florida, where there was little or no remote learning during the pandemic, experienced no such drop. And yet the article seemed very reluctant to draw conclusions about that. The obvious answer is that for public schools (K-12) the experiment with remote learning was an abject failure if the highest order.
